USA Africa Dialogue Series - The Erotic Exploits of Baltasar Ebang Engonga, Equatorial Guinea Finance Official and Record Setting Erotic Athlete and the Cultural Ramifications of his Activities

A story that has set Nigerian social media space on fire, resonating across various African countries, carried even by the BBC and reported even by mainstream Indian news media,  is the story of the Equatorial Guinea national finance official Balthasar Ebang Engonga.

On being investigated on financial issues, investigators uncovered a cache of about 400 erotic videos in his computer showing him in action with many women, one in each video, in different settings, from office to bedroom to waterfront, some of these women being prominent women in the country, along with women in his family circle, some of these varied categories of women being married to high ranking government officials and one even pregnant.

The videos demonstrate Engonga displaying a level of skill worthy of a seasoned pornographic film actor, in productions that are minimalist, using only one camera, employing only one angle of vision but able to project the dynamism of the encounter without the elaborate intimacies of conventional pornographic films, yet going beyond the amateuristic lack of polish in do-it-yourself erotica.

The videos have spawned various adaptations to different narrative settings, as evident in skits and comedic images as well as various speculations as to Ebonga's motivations and analyses as to the significance of his erotic adventures.
