On second thoughts, considerably AMENDED :
Dr Oohay,
Once again you broadcast your favourite mantra, that "Truth" doesn't even take a nap - your mantra "truth NEVER sleeps" is very close to that section of The Holy Quran known as TheThrone Verse, also known to the faithful as Ayatul Kursi:
"Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave ? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous."
I trust that you're on the same page of history as Gil Scott-Heron sounding off about the military-industrial complex in this piece: Work for Peace
From over here, the good news is that the Swedish Krona is strong ! A few minutes ago I heard our Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (on TV) boasting that "Sweden is a stable country " - another feather in his hat - stable and prosperous, and he's playing his part in maintaining that. Cheers!
The other news is Sweden is to boost defence spending by $30 Billion all because of what's going on over there between Russia and the mostly EU & UK - backed Ukraine. The paranoia - like a quiet fever - is - God forbid - that in time Russia would like to "take" Sweden - it's the sort of paranoia that someone in far way Los Angeles or a layabout loitering in "No Man's Land" somewhere under the Lagos bridge, someone who has nothing to lose, simply cannot understand or imagine.
This was bad enough:
European Economics and the Exploitation of Africa - Lecture by Dr. Edward Scobie
Economics is not my forte, but I daresay that like an organ grinder you're still grinding that ol' capitalist axe that was made in the iron age or was it the stone age, when barter was the system ? It seems that you're prepared to go on grinding that axe forever, even if CHINA eventually supersedes Uncle Sam, even if China is all set to overtake the US as the World's largest economy, whether you like it or not, in the very near future. Let's face it, there's China and BRICS. China has the rest of the world outside Trump's America ("paper tiger"). China has Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, South America, and some of Britain's former colonies such as Australia, and New Zealand
Fast forward, last week Ingmar Neveus prefaced his article with the thesis derived from Dylan's Union Sundown ( from 1983) which seems to be Trump's philosophy, or must we blame it all on Elon Musk's "useful idiot", the Harvard educated Peter Navarro who is the architect of the whole sorry mess?
CNN which Trump's trumpeters labelled "Clinton National Network" back then when they were avidly promoting Hillary Clinton, is now in the mode " no holds barred" as even Fareed Zakaria doesn't spare Trump. Let's pray that he doesn't get deported, worse still, incarcerated, because he sounds as if he's talking about a "third world country, a banana republic or a Kalabule Republic:
"Trump's tariffs will lead to a cascade of corruption"
Hmmm. Trump's tariffs
And here, Larry Summers has the last word :
#On GPS: Can tariffs bring back manufacturing?
BTW: It was a relief to listen to Vali Nasr on GPS yesterday

U.S. Is Fueling Its Own Decline, Iran Will Bury the Western Empire – History Repeats?
The saying is " Fools rush in where angels fear to tread" - so if Trump all jazzed up by Netanyahu does not make the most fatal mistake of his career by attacking Iran, then it could be another All's Well That Ends Well and not Trump in the Middle of the Armageddon that Biden started, Tel Aviv OBLITERATED, South Korea in turmoil, North Korea doing some sabre-rattling, China taking Taiwan, Trump swirling, isolated in the Middle of a whirlpool that's worse than WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan all rolled into one big ball of fire…
Hi Cornelius. I have Facebook but I DO NO Meta's FACEBOOK (a vital part of social media.I favor anything (including music) that does its thing in GOOD faith. So why will anyone with COURAGE and HONESTY ban something that points out some truth lyrically? Again, I keep suggesting strongly that truth NEVER sleeps; when it starts to sleep, life's most vital game will be over. My sisters and brothers of the world, when will the "WOKE" wake up? Main Street and Wall Street AIN'T a monolith; their "memberships" more or less change endlessly every day. Yes, the capitalist answer AIN'T THE answer BUT history continues to demonstrate everyday that wherever and whenever a people practice it in GOOD faith, it generally works. As one British statesman once put it, "capitalism" is worst form of government, BUT show me a better one.The tariffs attest to the economic/political point: mostly produce or induce what your people consume, and consume or induce less of what your people do not produce.OohayOn Sunday, April 13, 2025, 3:09 PM, Cornelius Hamelberg <cornelius...@gmail.com> wrote:
