The yardstick that I use to judge a man [or a woman] is his [ or her] deeds, his [her] behavior, and his [or her] intentions. I have always kept an open mind, which is necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth." -- Malcolm X.
--Dear Victor,
Let me elaborate briefly on #2.
Netanyahu has been proppedup by the US ziocons and neocons,in opposition to some Israelis.By recognizing him at the Senate, the US disappointed that groupof Israelis, no doubt. He has beenindicted for serious cases ofcorruption, breach of trust and fraudby an Israeli court, havingcommitted the offenses withA. Moses and S. Elovitch whoare also on trial. There are threeserious cases that couldlead to the imprisonment, ofNetanyahu, if convictedbut as long as he is in powerand engaged in these bigmoments of crisis, he isunencumbered by such legalpossibilities. The trialstarted in 2020 and is stillon the books.
We know that Netanyahu
has been a major instigatorof war in Iraq, Libya, Syria andperhaps Sudan, in the pastdecades. The weakening ofthese countries has been tothe advantage of Israeli andU.S. hegemony in the region.
I have little to add to yourgreat commentary on Africa.

2 & 6. I included 6 because it resonates with my recent policy proposal for the establishment of a United Confederation of African States.

The war:
For Trump it was all about the spectacle: From a failed infantile parade to live fireworks,
and the assertion of hegemonic power.
For Netanyahu it was a get-out-of -jail card, and a two - decade dream for Greater Israel.
For evangelicals it was some kind of morbid, end -of -times failed opportunity.
For the U.S power elite of neocons, Ziocons, and defense contractors, it was an opportunity toweaken BRICS through a hoped for regime change in Iran, and a money making venture.
To China it was a dry run for the forthcoming US- China conflict over Taiwan.
To the world's 17th largest country, Iran, spread over 600, 000 square miles, it was graduation day
for its medium range and hypersonic missile program ๐ง๐ but a counter- intelligence failure.
For Europe, an opportunity to make up with an estranged mad cousin and rejoin the notorious "coalition of
the willing"- but that fell through.
For India, remorse for buying partly ineffective weapons, and backing a horse that had less stamina
than envisaged.
For the Global South, witness to an emerging New World Order
For Africa, a wake-up call.
