Re: [SOCIAL NETWORK] Re: [External] [SOCIAL NETWORK] USA Africa Dialogue Series - UN says it has run out money for aid to Nigeria

Opinion

"Thanks to Nigerians in the Diaspora for your Patriotism and Invaluable contributions to the Welfare of our citizens in the "Giant of Africa" called Nigeria. Indeed, like the proverbial Lizard, you have every reason in the world to praise yourself!!!"

My dear brother, Kabiyesi,

Thanks a million for sustaining this forum for over two decades.

In my view, I understand your frustration. This frustration is probably true with respect to fellow Nigerians of our generation. Regrettably, in my conversations with brothers and sisters in my neck of the woods on the matter of corruption and bad governance in Nigeria and much of Africa, their opinions on the contemporary politics in Nigeria are not reassuring. They are not reassuring against the backdrop of our political history since independence and especially with our current politicians. In fact, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I have expressed my views on this issue from time to time in this forum. I am presently doing so in my contemporary work.

I believe in the "organic theory of the state." Nigeria, as a nation-state, all things being equal, will be here after we are long gone. The question is: WHAT CAN  FOLKS OF MY GENERATION DO TO HELP PROMOTE GOOD GOVERNANCE IN THE REPUBLIC? As I have suggested in this forum, solutions and recommendations that could exculpate Nigeria from her current quagmire abound. For example, I am happy to inform you and others that the works of our contemporary Nigerian scholars on how to promote good governance in Nigeria and Africa are impressive.

To cut a long matter short, I do not intend to throw in the towel on Nigeria and Africa. I shall continue to express my opinions on strategies that could get our current condition better (in Nigeria and Africa) despite our "politics of moneyocracy." This is so even though my "theory of privilege" suggests that those in a position of privilege will never give it up without a fight."

That notwithstanding, until the big one comes,

Aluta Continua!!!

Brother Ike Udogu

Have a great weekend, y'all.

For a good textbook illustration of the rhetorical devices known as pathos  and irony, the dear reader needs to look no further than Emmanuel Udogu's appeal which begins,

" My wish for Nigeria is that those politicians--especially governors--who are pilfering allocated funds will return their plunder as a sign of patriotism"   —so that their "sins will be forgiven"

They haven't listened to  Moses, Jesus or Prophet Muhammmad sallallahu alaihi wa salaam and yet you hope that they will listen to you ?

As our honest Presidential Brother Muhammadu Buhari famously cautioned, "Do not expect miracles ! "

The, by definition unpatriotic looters ( criminals) are being requested to voluntarily please return all the loot " as a sign of patriotism"

Wonder of wonders - so there you have seasoned political scientist Emmanuel Udogu pretending he doesn't know fully well that "Patriotism is the last refuge to which the scoundrel clings: Steal a little and they throw you in jail; steal a lot and they make you king"

The only language that the plunderers understand is not Hebrew, Greek, or Arabic; the only Language  the Nigerian Lootocracy understands is Nigerian pidgin, that under legal compulsion they will be made to "vomit di money"

Nobody knows how much oil has been leaving the shores of Nigeria, since the first drop of oil was discovered and nobody knows how things will be when the population of Nigeria has more than doubled in the next twenty-five years, or how things will be in the next 100 years….

Helter-skelter, the miscreants are busy acquiring more properties "overseas"

Meanwhile, thanks to Confucius, China is laying foundations for the next 500 years .

Abandoning your political party for the APC so that your sins will be forgiven is not patriotic, and will not help the country in this hour of need. Our children and grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, mothers and fathers are suffering. No more foreign aid from the UN and other international organizations. Nigeria does not need aid from anyone. She has the resources and human capital to exonerate the country from her present condition. Please help our destitute and marginalized citizens!!!

There is a fear that Trump's aid cuts will seriously affect Nigeria's national security and " will push people into the arms of Boko Haram" :
