Presenting ("the") yesterday "NOWS" of any (empirical) past always tends to (more or less) pose certain historiographical problems—- and as such almost every (historical) critique of a historical account, especially a scholarly kind, should remember to review the account as a supplement, NOT a complement. One reader of this Professor Falola account (for instance, notesa a certain omission; would such omission if or when added make Falola's essay a complementary account? Capital N-O. The NOWS of THIS MOMENT instantly/momentarily become SUCCESSIVELY the now of this very moment but NOT an identical NOW. Perhaps, any writing or saying or speaking always involves silences or absences to make any (empirical) sense. Perhaps, historiography necessarily involves the diachronic and the synchronic ways of being in the world or of seeing the world or of "writing (on) the wall (THIS WORLD). A favorite quote of mine: "Amor Fati" (not in the sense of "que sera sera").
