La France's Macron must be feeling mightily relieved that the military take-over in Benin was aborted, largely due to the input of Nigeria's President Tinubu. A successful military intervention indeed. Would France intervene to save Tinubu's ass if Tinubu were to be threatened in the same way? It's doubtful, since Français is not Tinubu's mother tongue or language of diplomacy, culture and commerce.Claude Kayat, are you listening ?
The USA's MAGA President Trump must also be feeling at least a little pleased with Nigeria's President and might even be praising him as a reliable Western Ally - in Trump's book, the only thing wrong with Tinubu is that the killing of Christians in Nigeria MUST STOP, it is REPREHENSIBLE GENOCIDE!
And the killing of Muslims in Nigeria, in even greater numbers?
Trump probably thinks that ought to be on the OIC agenda.
Perhaps, the burning down of the Somali mosque in The United States - according to most commentators is a direct result of Trump's incitement - telling his Americans that Somalis are "garbage" and repeatedly saying " I don't want them in our country"
But to this latest piece of drama/ theatre, political dialogue is a confrontation between two post-colonial ideologies,a dramatic exchange between the younger jungle guerrilla Traore and Tinubu the Conservative Yoruba Elder.
