Achike Chude to Interview Comrade Hassan Sunmonu, OON, January 4, 2026



Achike Chude, the National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is a graduate of the University of Port-Harcourt B.A. and the University of Lagos (Masters in International Law and Diplomacy) He is a human rights/civil society activist and change agent.

He is also an Associate member of the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA, United Kingdom) as well as the Nigerian Instituteof Public Relations (NIPR).

A media personality, Achike is a social and political affairs commentator on both national and international platforms who has made numerous contributions for the enhancement of society through his articles in various national newspapers as well as electronic media.

An author of two literary works, 'Sunset of Liberty' and 'Siege'. The Sunset of Liberty is in the reading lists of the Universities of Port-Harcourt and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.

Achike Chude is the Deputy National Chairman of the Joint Action Front (JAF), and a member of the Justice Development and Peace Center (JDPC) Lagos. He is a member and head of the media team of Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, one of the foremost election observation bodies in Nigeria.

He has consequently observed elections across different election cycles in different parts of the country. He is also in collaboration with the Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth (ERA/FOE), Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA), Reclaim Naija, and several other people-oriented non-governmental organizations.
