USA Africa Dialogue Series - RE: Already answered QQ...10 Things that Nigerians need to know about BUHARI

Oti Felix:
The POINT is not that a Citizen shouldnt have or maintain his/her religious beliefs when in the leadership of a heterogenous and secular nation; the POINT is that such a leader (Christian, Muslim, Budhist or Traditionalist) should:
1. Understand the need to separate the business of State governance from the individual religious beliefs;
2. Not mortgage the nation's interest to religionists;
3. Respect other citizems' religious beliefs;

I hope you or Buhari understands that; if Buhari can ASSURE NIGERIANS, he should be fine. Take care. JUI

Nnaa, tell our people who have no argument to make, to just jee zuo ike. "...Islamic apologist". What nonsense is that? Christian apologist, nko, is he that one? Then Ifeanyi Eze chimes in with his defense of drug pushers and courriers. We know that some us to date are still swallowing bags of cocaine for 10,000 USD! Ifeanyi Eze, how about that. If you are caught tomorrow with some pouches in your intestine, whose sympathy will you seek? We'd hope you were caught in Indonesia, so you do not turn Igbo land into a drug den. Ummm. Alright, let us find a protector for druggies as your president. Folks, the train has moved on. See Yoruba people having meaningful debates, factual debates, that will eventually lead to who they'd back. I am glad the decent man of integrity Buhari supporters among them have the days on their side. Igbo have poured all their eggs in one basket, a basket they were not even sure had holes in it. No problem. But all this religion crap, ain't saving no day for Igbo. We should rather quietly plot our future, than run our mouths in the open in the most inane fashion. It brings nothing but shame upon us. As to questions to Buhari, there is none he has not answered, as deeply as any intellectual will find satisfactory, and some for those of us given to peripherals - "sharia"...'suite cases"...and again, such crap.

Buhari is not an Islamic apologist, right?

I laugh when I read this comment from Christians ... complaining about someone being an Islamic apologist. What do you want him to be? A Christian apologist? He is a Muslim who finds it necessary to defend and promote his religious beliefs even to death. Is that not what he is supposed to do? Are we Christians banned from doing the same thing?

Now, if Christians have decided to do a Peter-to-Jesus on their religious beliefs..mostly for contracts and 419, how is it the Muslim's fault?

I am not a Muslim, but I will not fault anyone of them who elects to promote his/her religion. If we have more Christians doing the same, Nigeria would be a better place.

I don't know where you were the night IBB and co struck to overthrow Shagari; but I was at a party in Umuahia when the news came through, and everyone at that party went on a drinking and dancing binge. That tells you how the nation was feeling

What you need to do is stop being an Igbo "apologist", since you want Buhari to stop doing the same for his religion.

The issue is not whether Shagari/Ekwueme accomplished anything, the issue is that Nigerians elected them while Buhari violently took over the government in a criminal manner, no reasons offered yet but we can infer that he only wanted to stop an Igboman who was inching torwards the presidency. If Obasango was operating under his Murtala/Obasango criminal government, his third term agenda could have succeeded. Why? Civil and criminal (coup) governments have no comparison. Could you further explain why Buhari preferred subsidising Hajj by the federal government to subsidising Nigerian students in foreign educational institutions?  Buhari is not an Islamic apologist, right?

Thanks

Ifeanyi Eze

However anyone looks at this man, one thing is certain; if we must make serious efforts towards eradication of corruption in Nigeria, we need the kind of leadership provided by the Buhari/Idiagbon team. Only the strong and fearless can turn that country around; unfortunately, Buhari is getting old, and there are not many more like him.

Now, a question for Iheanyi Eze; is the Shagari/Ekwueme government the kind of leadership you wish on Nigeria?  Those two inept "leaders" killed Nigeria. If that is what you want, then you would probably not complain about the 8 years of Obasanjo.

Maybe, you will be happy with the second (or is it third?) coming of IBB

Could this Buhari advocate explain to us the reasons:
(1) Buhari truncated Shagari/Ekwueme lead democratically elected government in a bloody coup?
(2) Why did Buhari retroactively applied a decree with a mandated death application, which ultimately claimed the life of Azubuike Owo and others?

(3) Why do you think Soyinka called Buhari a murderer?

Thanks

Ifeanyi Eze

1.  Buhari stood by the constitutional provisions in asking that Goodluck take over from Yar Adua.

2.Buhari agrees Goodluck has a right to seek the Presidency.
3.Buhari has never been an advocate of the North.
4.Buhari called for a judicial commission of inquiry into the death of Dr Chuba Okadigbo.
5.Buhari did not take Nigeria to the OIC even though both himself and Idiagbon were moslems.

6.Buhari stood with Odumegwu Ojukwu in challenging the rigged Presidential elections of 2007.The court challenge was endorsed by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria.

7. The Northern Political leaders loathe Buhari because they are very corrupt and after their personal selfish interests.The Northern masses love Buhari because he truly stands for the less privileged.

8.The political heavyweights are not around Buhari because they are corrupt and Buhari has no money to share.

9.Adamu Ciroma the so called spokesman of the North is scared of Buhari because of his past as Governor of the Central Bank.

10.Buhari has a strong WILL ,is DISCIPLINED,will fight CORRUPTION to the end.Buhari believes that a Vice President is a Co-Pilot and not boy-boy like Atiku and Goodluck.That's exactly why we had Buhari/Idiagbon.
