We are delighted to invite you to this distinguished panel discussion on democratisation in Africa. In recent years, we have seen Africa gradually emerging from an era plagued with underdevelopment, poverty and conflicts into a new decade dominated with efforts to improve infrastructure and trade, strengthen institutions and enhance democracy across the continent.
A gradual process that has faced enormous challenges raging from bad governance, corruption, unconstitutional power changes to investor apathy.
Despite of all these challenges, there is a huge pool of untapped opportunities which if exploited diligently and efficiently will speed up the development and democratisation processes on the continent.
In the wake of all these, there is therefore a continuous quest to keep listening and talking to those contributing directly through counselling, advising and crafting the policies being implemented across most part of the continent.
It is therefore in this light that the African Policy Forum (APF), in Partnership with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS); University of London invites you to join:
Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh; Director and Senior Associate for Africa; National Democratic Institute (NDI),
Prof. Steven Chan; Professor of international relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and
Dr. Muzong Kodi; Fellow Associate for the African program at the Chatham House
for a panel discussion on the Democratisation in Africa.
