I can visualise a poor woman living at Tema, suffering from dementia, going into someone else's room because she's forgotten where her own room is. And all the idiots around her can see is a witch who was flying somewhere, lost fuel and dropped into the room of another woman. So kerosene, where are you?

Bunker, unfortunately our educational and social systems are totally inadequate for real life.
I confess that I did not know much that was scientific-based about 'dementia', until I moved to the UK. It is so pathetic. You see, 'dementia't creeps up on people: one day they drive to a supermarket and forget to pay the parking fee and are horrified to receive a penalty by post. On another day, they go out wearing their jeans inside out. On another, they get on a bus in a busy city like London and forget where they are going, or what bus they need to change into to get there. Their speech patterns change and they begin to mumble unintelligibly, making everything worse, because people can't help them without knowing what they want to do or say..

In the UK, she'd be taken to hospital, accurately assessed and diagnosed, and either given a carer, or sent into a care home, where she'd live under supervision.Truly, our abysmal ignorance is a curse to us.

Would it be too much to ask if we fry those bastards who did this thing to the old lady? As someone wrote, it is very likely that she was probably disoriented. The old lady was just sitting in the room, thinking she was in her own room. The Desert Bunker (while against the death penalty) is willing to pay for the gallons of gasoline or kerosene, plus the firewood and the matches, needed to light them up. One of the saddest story (it really touched me) I read on Okyeame is when one of our own shared the story of his father who was found wandering the street away from home, with people sneering, until a kind soul of a woman who recognized him, and took him home. Yes, our people need education on aging. Some people need a strong medicine not to abuse old people. And the charlatans (who call themselves preachers) in "modern" Ghana make it worse. You turn on any Ghana radio station particularly at night or early morning and all your hear about is the conning of people to come for "deliverance" from all the "abayie".
