The Save Nigeria Group (SNG)'s Convenor, Pastor Tunde Bakare, accompanied by spokesperson Mr. Yinka Odumakin, will be having a number of private and public events in the next few days in the Washington DC area. Bakare and Odumakin arrived in the Washington DC area on Monday November 1, 2010.

TUNDE BAKARE
Dr. Tunde Bakare was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State of Nigeria on November 11th 1954. He had his Primary education at the All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta and his secondary education at the Lisabi Grammar School in the same city after which he studied law at the University of Lagos between 1977 and 1980.
He was called to the Bar in 1981 and following his NYSC, he practiced law with Gani Fawehinmi Chambers and Rotimi Williams & Co. He established his own law firm; Tunde Bakare & Co (El-Shaddai Chambers) in October 1984.
In May 1988, at the peak of his legal career he was called into ministry and he founded The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church) on April 1 1989 and is currently the Serving Overseer of the church.
He presides over Global Apostolic Impact Network (GAIN) – a network of churches, ministries and kingdom businesses committed to advancing the Kingdom of God on earth. Dr. Bakare is also the President of Latter Rain Ministries, Inc. (Church Development Center) in Atlanta, GA, USA, a ministry committed to restoring today's church to the scriptural pattern.
In recognition of his years of exploits and global impact in ministry, he was honoured with a Doctor of Ministry Degree by the Indiana Christian University under the leadership of his mentor, Dr. Lester Sumrall in 1996.
In 2007, he established the International Centre for Reconstruction and Development (ICRD); a knowledge industry/think-tank devoted to re-engineering the social, economic and political landscape of Nigeria in particular and Africa in general.
Dr. Tunde Bakare is the Convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG); a coalition of pro-democracy groups and individuals with a clear mandate to promote political knowledge and participation of the Nigerian citizens through strategic activities. After decades of speaking truth to power and standing on the side of the oppressed, Dr. Bakare has thus extended the frontiers of his political activism in a bid to Save Nigeria, to Change Nigeria and to Make Nigeria Great again in our lifetime.
He is happily married to Layide Bakare and they are blessed with five wonderful children.

YINKA ODUMAKIN
Born 44 years ago in Ile-Ife ,Osun State,Nigeria,Yinka Odumakin attended St Augustine Primary School, Ondo;Oduduwa College,Ile-Ife and the Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-ife where he graduated in 1989 with B.A (Hons) English Studies.
He thereafter did his one year National Youth Service at Ogun State College of Education, Ijebu-ode where he was offered automatic employment for outstanding performance.
He opted for the Media world by taking up a job at The Punch Newspaper's Features Department where he became a Columnist within Six months.He later moved to the Guardian Newspapers in I992 before he disengaged from active journalism in 1994 to establish Kaphine Nigeria Limited, a media consulting company which he runs till date.
His foray into public affairs took shape at the Obafemi Awolowo university where he was elected the spokesman of the students Union in 1987 .He was a very active member of the Nigerian Union of Journnalists (NUJ) and elected spokesman of Gani Fawehinmi led National Conscience Party (NCP) in 1994 .
He was very active in the pro-democracy movement in Nigeria following the annulment of June 12 presidential elections working within the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) and the Joint Action Committee of Nigeria(JACON) .
In the last 11 years of Civil rule in Nigeria he has functioned as the Spokesman of the Pan Yoruba socio-political organization,Afenifere .
He is a founding member of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG) and its spokesman.
