This frequent change of names of our Nigerian Universities must be opposed by all. I am now visiting in University of Manitoba which started in 1877. The name has never changed since then. The people here in Canada too have high profile politicians who die and need to be remembered, but have not renamed their universities after these politicians. We should stop the idea of naming all universities in Nigeria after politicians.
We Nigerians home and abroad feel very angry about this and government officials need to take note of this anger and let the University of Lagos be.

Subject: Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Professor Olusola Adeyeye reacts to the renaming of UNILAG
| There are seven new federal universities approved within the last one year and Jonathan could have changed the name of any of them into Moshood Abiola University without meeting any resistance since they only exist on paper. UNILAG cannot become MAUL or MALU just because one man thinks he owns Nigeira because he resides in Aso Rock. Prof Felicia A. D.
