Not so fast, Mwalimu Bangura! To the extent that you have not
articulated to us a case for why voting for Romney might advance the
progressive and Pan-Africanist course, it seems you are for Romney as
an end in itself. The progressives are making a different argument.
They are looking at the broader progressive cause, and hoping that a
Romney presidency might unleash a backlash that might mobilize the
progressive constituency. It sounds attractive, but I doubt it's
effectiveness.
We all saw the damage that eight years of Dubya did. And Bush Sr and
Reagan before that. Can progressivism survive a Romney-led
conservative onslaught? Is progressivism worth sacrificing Obama for,
so as to save and advance it?
