"Onua" Kwabena:
Some of us have communicated directly with the family. In fact, my family and I were deeply touched that Sister (Professor) Nwando Achebe of Michigan found the time (in her sorrow) to respond sisterly to our words conveying our deepest condolences. Lady Christie, "immortalized" in THERE WAS A COUNTRY: A PERSONAL HISTORY OF BIAFRFRA (in the discussion about what her father said to young Chinua in a form of advice about criticizing others), will survive all intrigues about her great husband, who recently passed into Transition (the intrigues include inter-ethnic criticisms, why Professor Chinua was eluded by the Nobel Literature Prize, etc). She knows that many, many of us care about as well as love the Achebe Family, and that all of them are in our fervent Prayers each blessed day!
