Honorable Pius:
I second Brother Kissi's wise sentiments! We also thank God Almighty that such prestigious awards or appointments still exist in spite of the world-wide fiscal crunch. Congratulations are in order for you as well as for University of Ghana at Legon, which is benefitting immensely from the award.

Congratulations, Pius. As an Alumnus of the University of Ghana, I welcome the opportunity you have been granted to contribute to intellectual life at Legon. This is a commendable achievement. I have followed your writings and thinking on this forum and I am certain the students and scholars you will interact with at Legon will be enriched by the depth and substance of your mind and analyses. The IAS, where you will serve out your fellowship, is closer, in proximity, to International House where many Institutes and think-tanks are located . Make your presence on campus felt there too.
Enjoy your time at the U of G.
Edward Kissi

"The Kwame Nkrumah Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana at Legon, will play host for the next one year to renowned Nigerian writer and winner of the Penguin Prize for African Writing, Professor Pius Adesanmi. The Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada Professor of English and African Studies was recently named a Carnegie Diaspora Visiting Professor and will spend his time in Ghana working on a project funded by Carnegie Corporation, New York, with the aim of harnessing the expertise of Africa's diaspora-based intellectuals for the development of Universities across Africa. To shed more light on this prestigious appointment, Sahara Reporters caught up with a key figure in the project: Dr. Tade Aina, Program Director, Higher Education in Africa, Carnegie Corporation, New York."
