BOKO HARAM: THE CONSPIRACY BY NORTHERN LEADERS TO SEIZE THE GOVERNMENT FROM GOODLUCK JONATHAN

In the last three weeks, the world has been watching with horror, helplessness and indignation the spectacle of 234 school girls who were kidnapped by the American certified terrorist group, operating in the north-eastern region of Nigeria under the name Jamāʻat Ahl as-Sunnah lid-daʻwa wal-Jihād, but better known by its Hausa name, Boko Haram.


When it comes to equity as Dr. Junaid Mohammed advocated, I don't know whether the north believes that Nigerians are stupid: the world should know that the North has ruled Nigeria for 36 years out of the 53 years since the country gained its independence from Britain; the south-west has ruled Nigeria for 12 years; the south-east has ruled Nigeria for 6 months; and by next year, 2015, the South South would have ruled Nigeria for 5 years and when President Jonathan wins reelection for another four years, the South South would have ruled Nigeria for nine years when he completes his term in 2019 and this is an area that produces the bulk of the wealth of Nigeria, the Niger Delta area.  And when countries like the US begins to point to poverty in the north as basis for the emergence of Boko Haram, it is pertinent to point out that the bulk of the wealth of the country is in the north – the richest African is from the north and so are hundreds of others from the north.
