Adeyinka Olarinmoye, Obafemi Awolowo and Karl Marx

Adeyinka Olarinmoye, candidate for Ondo State, Nigeria, House of Assembly, Akoko Northwest Constituency II, is a disciple of Karl Marx and the great socialist, Obafemi Awolowo.
Her Iyalata- a Yoruba name for a woman who sells pepper in retail- experience of December 2013 demonstrates this vision of sharing the life of the citizen, regardless of whatever status one might have attained, as in her regular work as an academic.
She tells her story:
"Wow! I appreciate the market women more.
I'm an iya alata for a day!
The experience was mind blowing; from waking up as early as 4 am and getting to mile12, the famous pepper market.
To buying and transporting to LASU [Lagos Sate University]
Sharing and marketing to willing and unwilling potential customers.....lol...
Laughing and appearing pleasant even when you would have really loved to give some women dirty slaps.
Men are better customers. Women are a nightmare!
I may lose after all....and my hands are burning like hell as I type this post....
But I was called an iya alata by both known and unknown persons.
I'm thrilled!!!!!!!"
