thanks ogugua. i take it NSF means Nigerian Security Forces?
i am curious about the extent to which the muslim community in nigeria
is divided over BK--i.e., the extent of support or opposition that
exists within the muslim community in nigeria, and also why it would
have turned into such a violent division. since i don't know that many
other african countries well, i am fairly confident that such a violent
muslim movement would not gain traction in senegal. but the conditions
in senegal are quite different from those in nigeria. i understand them
in senegal. but i don't understand them in nigeria--is the difference
regional? is it a question of different sects? how did such a violent
movement come to rally such support in nigeria, and is there
considerable opposition to it amongst nigerian muslims? is this
difference one of the northeast versus the northwest? i am sorry if some
people are annoyed by my questions, but i really do want to understand
the situation better.
i get what has been said about the failures of the government, and
resentments toward it; the corruption, the army, its brutality. but it
seems that borno state is the center of BH activities, and not so much
elsewhere. why is this the case?
