| | | | | Here is some important email regarding the Quintessential African Press Corps meeting scheduled for January 31st at 12 PM- 3PM. Please extend this invitation to other members of the press you may know. This forum is in three parts. Each part is scheduled for one hour. The first part will address the challenges faced by the African Press in doing our work domestically and internationally. Part two, will validate the challenges as legitimate problems because some of our colleagues are often just ranting or confused and in some cases prosecuted for publishing false or defamatory information. Part three will provide us with opportunity to offer our views and ideas on ways and means of strengthening the status of the African press in domestically and around the world. The format of each segment is as follows: The Moderator introduces the convener, who sets the stage for the segment, and the host introduces the designated speaker who provides perspectives, vision and motivation? Members of the press who have something to add, either comments or question are allowed after the speaker. All questions will be addressed in segment two, as it will give us the opportunity to validate the challenges described as legitimate. Every voice is welcome. Thank you so much for taking the time to attend and speak at this forum. A teleforum is useful because it works like a conference call and can accommodate long distances participation by Skype or phone. Journalists can collaborate, share information, corrective ideas, and decide best way forward on a pressing issue from local to global at an instant. This method of connection may even improve the chance to facilitate regular meetings of the African Press Corps. Please see all details and respond for RSVP: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-quintessential-african-press-corp-meeting-tickets-15396717998. Sincerely, Wale African Views
