This comment seems to be coming out of the blue. Who is it that is being cheered: Obasanjo or Jonathan? And by whom? Which Nigerians? It is one thing to oppose the present government and to sneer at everything that one does not agree with as "change", but it would also be good to check the people who opposed Obasanjo's third term project and see whether they are the ones "cheering". Though Jonathan is being cheered for conceding the election, there will also be those who don't see any big deal in not resisting electoral defeat just as there are those who are still condemning him for giving up the fight so easily.
And what does this "cheering" consist of? The mere fact that one refers to an ex President, or consults him on national issues, or reads interviews with him does not mean that they are "cheering". After all, people did the same for Babangida, they still consult even Gowon and are for sure consulting Obasanjo and Jonathan, because only a few people take the somewhat immature position that everybody is all good or all bad, or that any one person has all the answers, or none at all.

A former Nigerian President who after the constitutionally provided two terms of office, attempted to fraudulently change the constitution so that he could go for a third term and failed, now denigrates another who after a term was defeated and congratulated opponent even before the election was concluded and Nigerians are cheering, all in the spirit of "change".
