Our traducers will always find a problem they want to help us solved or a danger from which they want to save us. We have the liberal lions claiming to be saviours of zebras and antelopes from untimely death. Of all the problems confronting Africa, female circumcision is the most urgent thing to save Africans from, the liberal lions tell us. In Africa where female circumcision are still practised, male circumcision are generally practised too, which if it were to happen in Europe or America it would have been regarded as gender equality and symbol of civilisation.
While our civilised abusers call female circumcision in Africa, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), they dare not call Male circumcision in Africa, Male Genital Mutilation (MGM), because if they do, they will face the wrath of the Jews waving anti-semitism baner in their faces. But what is called Female Genital Mutilation in Africa by our civilised abusers is practised and called CLITORIDECTOMY in Europe and the US. Clitoridectomy is the surgical removal of the whole or part of the foreskin of the clitoris. Apart from surgically cutting down the clitoris, the interior part and a times the exterior part of the labia is surgically removed and beautifully named EXCISION. Still being practised in Europe and the US is what is termed INFIBULATION which means that the clitoris, internal and exterior parts of the labia are cut off. Thereafter it is stitched together, living a small hole for the passage of urine and mensuration. Among the celebrities and upper class in Europe and the US, it is very common for females to subject themselves to dotting, scratching and incision of the clitoris for the purpose of extra-sexual enjoyment or as they claim, to increase quality of life.
African leaders must understand that it is futile to jump up as a means to get to the top of a tree. They must learn to climb the tree from the bottom to get to the top. With general education and improvements in standard of living, old customs will disappear and give way to new ideas. Up to the World War II there was the practice of chastity gaddles on females in Europe. It was a popular custom among men to perforate each side of the female labia, padlocked it and hold the key. That was done to prevent their wives or fiancés from having sexual intercourse with other men. But as access to education became general and economic conditions improved significantly in Europe the idea of chastity gaddle for women vanished without the promulgation of any law banning the practice. There are queues in Africa for potable water but no queue for female circumcision!!
