Film : Bridge of Spies
'Bridge of Spies is a 2015 American historical drama-thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay written by Matt Charman and Ethan Coen and Joel Coen. The film stars Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, and Alan Alda. Based on the 1960 U-2 incident during the Cold War, the film tells the story of lawyer James B. Donovan who is entrusted with negotiating the release of Francis Gary Powers—a pilot whose U-2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union—in exchange for Rudolf Abel, a captive Soviet KGB spy held under the custody of the United States.'

Appeal
What new way can the Cold War be presented to make it appealing a this point in history after the fall of the Berlin Wall?
I expect rich storytelling, powerful period visuals and a strong climax with memorable characterization.
Spielberg is one known as one of the greatest Hollywood directors of all time.
A Spielberg outing is often a landmark event in Hollywood history as demonstrated by Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Appeal
US directors are magnificent in depicting the machinery of state in action.
Coupled with an exploration of paradoxical morals in connection with gangsterdom, which these filmmakers are also very good at, this being a defining feature of US film history, something powerful is ascertain to happen.

Film : The Lady in the Van
'A man forms an unexpected bond with a transient woman living in her car that's parked in his driveway.' Based on a true story.
Appeal
A fantastic film. Profound humanity dramatized in creative visual and oral storytelling. I need to watch it three times to embed it fully into myself. The acting is marvellous. The plot enters into you in a creatively cunning way.
