Just a short one here, taking away some of the focus  and the heat from  Brother Farrakhan to brain surgeon Dr. Ben Carson  and the idea that the GOP can't win Black votes without Trump

here is a report in the daily beast, linked below in cornelius's article re farakhan.http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/03/04/the-klan-and-farrakhan-trump-is-a-uniter-after-all.html

The Klan and Farrakhan? Trump Is a Uniter After All

Anyone who can get me to praise Eric Erickson deserves a rethink. Maybe there's a silver lining to this whole Trump thing.

Donald Trump is right about one thing: he is a "unifier." In fact, he has united a despicable list of hate groups to support him, from the Klan to Louis Farrakhan. Who else but Trump could unite people who hate blacks with a black guy who hates Jews?

Trump really has inspired a veritable "Legion of Doom" of hate groups to take a ride on the Trump train. There's the neo-Nazi website, The Daily Stormer, that has run articles loudly endorsing Trump. Then we have former Klan leader David Duke, who touts Trump as the best candidate to ensure "that White-Americans are allowed to preserve and promote their heritage."

Plus there's Farrakhan, who stated just a few days ago about Trump, "I like what I'm looking at." He specifically praised Trump for telling Jewish donors, "I don't want your money."

And those are just a few examples. The Trump coalition now features Latino, Muslim, Jewish, and African-American haters who have all come together to hold hands in a kumbaya fest of bigotry. And given that a South Carolina exit poll that found 70 percent of Trump supporters there want the Confederate flag to go back up over the state capitol, you get a sense many Trump supporters would feel pretty comfortable hanging out with the hate group members.

But perhaps more importantly, Trump has also brought together people from two political camps that are much more difficult to unite than the Klan and Farrakhan. I'm talking certain progressives and conservatives who have been at odds with each for years. And I don't mean people who diplomatically disagreed. Rather I'm talking the ones who have viciously slammed each other.

In the last few days, a growing number of Republican elected officials have announced they wouldn't vote for Trump if he's the GOP nominee, from Sen. Ben Sasse to Gov. Charlie Barker to Rep. Scott Rigell—and the list goes on. I have never seen my progressive friends praise Republicans the way they are toasting these people for their "courage."

And some of my friends who essentially made it their full time job in 2012 to attack Mitt Romney, were the first to praise Romney's full-throated takedown of Trump on Thursday. It's a bit bizarre to hear the same people who once called Romney horrible names now referring to him glowingly, and quoting his criticism of Trump on everything from his failed businesses to laughable foreign policy ideas.

On a personal level I have found myself changing my view— for the better—about some media figures on the right. For example, there's conservative pundit Erick Erickson, who I slammed in past articles and who last year blocked me on Twitter, giving you a sense of how viciously we have disagreed. But just last week I found myself praising him over his recent declaration that he would not vote for Trump, who he views as a man who "preys on nationalistic, tribal tendencies and has an army of white supremacists online as his loudest cheerleaders."

Where is your faith in the  American people,  the American Constitution and in the electoral process?

I remember who was at the vanguard of the hue and cry  that Brother Obama had not been born in the United States,  that he had been born in Kenya, that  they wanted to see his birth certificate, that  he was a Muslim, and if you want I'll give you a taste of some of the despicable things that Ma & Pa Clinton said about the "dreamer" Brother Obama, when they were fighting him for the nomination  - during which time one of  the most un-educated  persons in our Sierra Leone forum  was  saying among other things that Brother Obama was a " slow thinker" , because he was jealous that I admire Brother Obama and not him (Heaven forbid) and  perhaps because Brother Obama  doesn't have a dozen PhDs and doesn't speak 100 languages etc.

As far as I'm concerned,  don't worry, be happy! As long as there is freedom of speech and freedom of choice,  you can all vote for Old Mother Hubbard to be the next president  of the United States , for all I care, but then  America will not be great again.

Re -"Those for the bombastic Donald Trump for president and those sworn against a Donald Trump anywhere near the White House threw free speech to the dogs and went after each other eye ball to eye ball"

Thou shalt not exaggerate!

You sound like it was the beginning of the second  American Civil War

The Civil Rights movement has largely achieved some of its objectives, there's even our soul brother  occupying the White House.  And don't forget  - Trump has been endorsed by Louis Farrakhan ( yes , I know all about Louis Farrakhan  for several decades now; Trump was endorsed by Ben Carson yesterday  and Trump has also been endorsed by other prominent African Americans  of which there are many  in Lincoln's  Republican party.  Ama also aware of the traditional African American - Latino rivalries not least of all both in New York and Florida.

Over here in Sweden,  along with a great health care system  we have  hate speech laws that are rigorously maintained  and elsewhere  there are Hate Speech Laws that can always be invoked and prosecutions initiated…

All that happened yesterday was  Donald Trump and supporters exercising their right to lawful assembly  - and you don't know what he was going to say, but we do know  that right was being violated by some hoodlums and hooligans whose sole purpose was to disrupt Trump's peaceful assembly and then have the event  widely  reported and distorted  in the media - as if it was Trump stoking up some trouble  when most obviously it's his political rivals who want to use this ruse to stop him from winning the nomination, by every means possible, i.e. by hook and by crook. It now looks that they are so desperate , it's going to be mostly by crook.

I saw very few Black faces in the pro- Trump crowd or in the crowd of protesters ( trouble makers) – but nobody was even hurt although CNN chose to show the same close-ups over and over again for the better part of one and half hours giving the verisimilitude that there was a major riot going on…

Anyway, I'll be taking this matter up and going a lot further in my next blog entry : God don't like ugly!

Finally, Donald Trump is driving Americans crazy! – Tony Okoroji writes

By Tony Okoroji.

Did you see the scenes around Chicago last night and this morning? It is like finally Americans have decided to go to war but not war against theIranians, North Koreans or ISIS? This war is Americans v. Americans. Finally, there are those who have had enough of the Donald J. Trump nonsense.

Those for the bombastic Donald Trump for president and those sworn against a Donald Trump anywhere near the White House threw free speech to the dogs and went after each other eye ball to eye ball. Law enforcement had a hard time controlling the thousands of Anti-Trump protesters in Chicago who swore that Donald Trump would not have a rally nor speak in their city. They were adamant that Donald Trump ought to take his divisive rhetoric elsewhere.

Anybody who has watched the drama unfolding in America may have concluded that Donald Trump will always have his way. He has got theRepublican nomination! He is unbeatable! There are many who have resigned themselves to the horror that nobody can stop Donald Trump. Last night Donald Trump did not have his way. His planned rally in Chicago did not hold. It was shut down.

For months Donald Trump has been swearing, cursing and wagering his fingers at everyone. He has gone after Muslims, cannot stand Mexicans, is railing against the Chinese and loathes Nigerians. He has taken on the Pope. Donald J. Trump has used foul language in its most incendiary manner and turned the race for the most important office in the world to a blatant WWF contest with the swearing, boasting and flexing of muscles.

The Donald is known to have insulted Pope Francis, women, Mexicans, Muslims, protesters, and the media.

If you like violent sports, Donald Trump can be very attractive. If you like raw entertainment, the guy who fired people in NBC's Apprentice would give you as much as you want. What has become obvious is that there are millions in America who love blood sports and raw entertainment and confuse these with leadership.

But for those who want a thinking man, a man who has the intellect and depth of character to weigh the myriad of issues that will confront the President of the United States of America and take decisions that are not just eye catching and popular for the moment but will stand the test of time, they are revolted by how any person who is not drunk can choose Donald Trump. That is a major fault line in today's American politics.

Few months back, very few gave Donald Trump the slimmest chance of getting anywhere near the White House. The pundits said that it was a joke. But that is not the way it has panned out so far. It is no longer a joke! Donald Trump has stoked the fears of Americans.

He has stoked latent hatred and racist tendencies in America. The next President of the United States could very well be the trash talking Republican egomaniac who spews obscenities as much as he openly sprouts hatred, a guy who has run his companies four times into bankruptcy and has been married to three different women, the latest being a stripper whose stark naked photographs are everywhere for everyone to see.

That is troubling to many decent people not just in America but around the world. Indeed, the thought of it is driving a lot of people crazy even within Mr. Trump's Republican Party.

If you think that what is taking place in Chicago will not be seen several times across America, then you have not followed history. The elections in America will take place in November. November is many months away. Be prepared for many months of rough battles across America. Chicago is simply a sign of things to come.

Turbulence!
