Members of the British aviation industry have protested governments decision that travelers into the UK be quarantined in hotels around the airport on arrival so guide against entry of new strains of Covid- 19. They said this will irrevocably damage the industry struggling to cope with the fall out of the pandemic on its operations.
It will be recalled that in April last year yours truly suggested that the most effective way to check the spread of the virus is through airport testing and that travelers be not allowed into the larger community until they are tested to be negative. The UK govt set up a task force and that measure took effect earlier this year.
Yours truly also suggested that the measure, for guaranteed effectiveness, be internationalised and that the world's major financial institutions set up a rescue package with major airline industries so these industries are not crippled with the financial burden.
