3rd letter to President Buhari
Dear mr President
I hope you did not leave Otunba Niyi Adebayo behind.he is the Minister of trade, investment and industry. For I did not notice his name in the beautiful and fantastic news report by deji eliumoye in the THISDAY NEWSPAPER titled "nigeria moves to attract foreign investment to the economy". Very very exciting news report Mr President, you have some good men no doubt. If i am to go by the topics to be deliberated upon. impressive. Those who packaged the talks for government deserve free lunch at any restaurant of their choice same with the reporter Deji elumoye.
And somebody else, yewande sadiku the immediate past dg of nigeria investment promotion council, she did well. of all the the MDAs hers was rated number 2 second to dr ogbonnaya onu.then minister of science and tech. Both of them should be with you in new york. I also think the heads of nigeria's four unicorns should have tagged along to new york. I see Mark Zuckerberg is going to be there and bill gates so I expect the presidents of OPay. Paystack, Piggy Vest and Fluttewave would be there. Then Tony Elumelu's name is conspicuously absent. He has been making massive investment in the youth Of africa, the new york crowd can learn from his experience. I also notice that the minister of power is not mentioned/ i hope he is going to be in new york
Mr President, I learnt you are in New york for the 77th session of the united nations general assembly and on the 22nd of September let me add 2022 the anniversary of the birth of Michael Faraday, father of the all too often talked about electricity.!
Somehow it all takes my mind to Obafemi Awolowo..let me explain the number 77 reminds me of 77 obafemi awolowo way, ikeja lagos, Headquarters of the manufacturers association of nigeria and obafemi awolowo launched the unity party of nigeria on september 22 1978, with the symbol of a candle lighting up nigeria. We had NEPA plc and people read plc to mean please light a candle! In 1979 om national television whilst expecting the results of the 1979 electrician of which papa awolowo was a candidate we were brought face to face on national television a a LIGHTED CANDLE was blow out before our very eyes. It was the NPN blowing the UPN AwAY/ That candle/awolowos candle cannot be blown out.it is metaphysical.
At this material time some seem to be presenting Nigeria as being in a precarious conduction almost like "a candle in the wind" which is the title of a Television Drama by the famed laolu oguniyi. Should i also add the television and film industry should have been represented in the nigerian delegation to new york investment wise.because it's all happening in new york finance wise.and lastly the Book publishers because new york is not only a financial center it is the publishing and cultural capital of usa, so the publishers should have been invited. Including segn rusewe of the national council on arts, thank you mr president
