Ms. Hannatu Musawa hails from Katsina State in the Northern part of Nigeria. Her father is a veteran politician, Alhaji Musa Musawa. Hannatu Musawa graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Buckingham, UK. She has a Master's in the Legal Aspects of Marine Affairs from the University of Cardiff, Wales. She also has a Master's in Oil & Gas from the University of Aberdeen.
Hannatu Musawa is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She is also a qualified solicitor in England & Wales, UK. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Hannatu has worked as a litigation lawyer and Legal Advisor to several private companies. She worked with the law firm of the Late Chief Akpamgbo. Hannatu founded the firm Hanney Musawa & Associates.
Hannatu Musawa has been heavily involved in politics over the years. She contested for the Federal House of Representatives legislative seat in her home state of Katsina. As a political activist, she was once the lawyer on the prosecutors' leading team in the 2003 presidential election petition between Muhammadu Buhari and Olusegun Obasanjo.
She was appointed as the APC deputy spokesperson for the Tinubu presidential campaign on the 4th of August, 2022.
