ECOWAS D-Day for Military Action: Why this just may be a 'Just War'.
After the Second Extraordinary Meeting held in Ghana, 18th August 2023, Fatah Musah -ECOWAS the Commissioner for Peace and Security has stated ominously. "We are ready to go anytime the order Is given. The D-Day Is also decided, which we are not going to disclose …this is the final meeting before deployment". This comes after intransigence and digging in by the illegal regime of Abdourahamane Tchiani and members of his Junta in the Republic of Niger. . Although the junta announced a three-year transition plan, this has been rejected by the ECOWAS as a smoke screen. The international political setting is mixed in its reactions to this. Whereas there is little appetite for military conflict and even the Pope has weighed in suing for peace, war remains on the card.
A careful look at the comparative military and Relative Military Strengths of the countries that may clash show that Niger and its group of military junta regimes are placed at considerable disadvantage. They are landlocked and
