Dr Tola Ilesanmi to join the Panel Discussion on Coups in Africa, September 24, 2023
Omotola Adeyoju Ilesanmi, PhD, is a Senior Research Fellow and Head, Division of International Organization in the Department of Research and Studies of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos, Nigeria. She holds a doctorate in Political Science from Babcock University, Ogun State; an M.Sc. in Political Science, a Master's degree in International Law and Diplomacy, and a B.Sc. in Political Science, all from the University of Lagos, Akoka. Her research is focused on the Women, Peace and Security agenda, violence against women, and the gender dimensions of foreign policy and international relations. Dr. Ilesanmi is a specialist on women's peace-building processes, gender, and security, security sector reforms, peace and conflict studies. She also teaches courses in the areas of foreign policy analysis and diplomacy. She is an alumnus of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre Accra Ghana and has published widely in local and foreign journals and books.
