USA Africa Dialogue Series - Issues Arising From The Invitation Of The Labour Union President By The Nigeria Police

Is it impossible for the Nigerian Organized Labour leaders to be guilty of any crimes?

How would a suspect be considered free from an alleged crime without investigations?

Who conducts investigations into crime allegations?

Shouldn't the issue be whether or not the police violated any laws or norms in the Labour leader's invitation rather than "why inviting him"?

Does asking Labour Union affiliates to stage protests on the day the Labour leader would answer the police invitation not  appear as intimidation of the police and to what purpose?

Do Labour leaders have statutory immunity against criminal investigations?

We, the Nigerian elite should decide whether we  want a society that operates on the rule of law or not.

Finally, is it not a surprise that some citizens of Nigeria, who constantly mouth the principle of rule of law, would be trying to directly and/or indirectly prevent statutory law enforcement agencies from performing their statutory duties?
