As part of its centenary celebrations, Kaduna State is introducing a literary event to its cultural calendar.
The Kaduna Book & Arts Festival 2017 (KABAFEST) will feature over 50 writers, artists, actors, poets and performers who will share their work with us.
Headlined by Sudanese author Leila Aboulela, events include an art exhibition with renowned artist Jerry Buhari, Kaltume B Gana, Williams Chechet, Mariam Oyawoye and Nura Garba. With 9 authors in 5 booklogues and 9 stimulating panel discussions on a wide range of important issues, discussions will be fun, thought-provoking and enriching. On one of the evenings, 12 poets from all over Nigeria will make magic. Let's not forget the screening of two films: Ishaya Bako's Henna and Kenneth Gyang's Blood and Henna. Food-lovers will be able to enjoy our tasting events which will feature flavours from Syria and an opportunity to enjoy the array of Northern Nigerian desserts. Don't forget to visit the Kabafest bookstore where you will find thousands of books by Nigerian and international authors.
We look forward to seeing you at the first edition of KABAFEST!
