USA Africa Dialogue Series - African Union ECOSOCC Works: Advisory Opinion to the Peace and Security Council

Fellow African Citizens and Friends of Africa:

The African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOCC) is the African Union organ mandated to engage the civil society in the implementation of  AU programs, Agenda 2063 and to build viable public-private partnerships between the private and public sectors. Further, AU ECOSOCC advises the African Heads of States through its Advisory Opinions.

Peace is indispensable for prosperity and it is interwoven in every aspect of life. Peace is not the necessarily the  absence  of  war but the presence of those conditions that ensure an orderly society.

Please find attached the Advisory Opinion submitted to the AU Peace and Security Council by the AU ECOSOCC Peace and Security Cluster under its Chairperson, the Honorable Eugene Ngalim.
